Beginning July 27 a new exhibition “Stuff: Still Life Photography” will be available on Paddle8, a website that features online exhibitions curated by influential cultural figures. This new exhibition is curated by Vince Aletti and will feature work from photographers including William Eggleston, Dan Estabrook, Saul Fletcher, Tamar Halpern and many others.
Co-founders Alexander Gilkes and Aditya Julka have joined forces with partners Hikari Yokoyama and design firm TENDER to introduce Paddle8, a new destination for examining, understanding, and acquiring unique artworks.
Paddle8 grants collectors access to a dynamic series of guest-curated exhibitions by influential cultural figures; informative and in-depth editorial content; streamlined access to leading galleries; and eased transaction processes.
As a multi-faceted site that leverages technology to facilitate the viewing, curating and acquisition of art, Paddle8 extends the gallery experience to a broader audience. Paddle8’s monthly exhibitions are driven by curatorial perspectives from authoritative cultural voices of our time.
Individual artworks in each show are accompanied by a “dossier” consisting of high quality, originally produced videos and photo shoots providing intimate views into the artist’s studio and informative content gathered from sources closest to the artists. The Paddle8 tools support the platform by offering dynamic views of the artwork and multimedia displays of editorial content while our 4-step acquisition process eases the challenges of selling and purchasing art for both galleries and collectors.
The site’s integration of user-friendly viewing and acquisition tools with contextualized artwork sets apart the Paddle8 collector experience.
While Paddle8’s exhibitions and editorial content are available to the viewing public, only members are able to access prices, view additional artwork on the gallery pages, make offers on desired works and receive the benefits of Paddle8’s member services. Paddle8’s global community serves as an extension of the relationships and enthusiasm for art generated by local art scenes, international art fairs, and global art world events.
Member services are designed to provide 24/7, 365-days-a-year access to this community alongside streamlined communication and eased transactions between galleries and collectors. Paddle8 galleries will be able to offer additional artworks outside of the exhibitions under their own space on Paddle8’s site. Paddle8 selects galleries based on the rigor of their program, critical and institutional engagement, international presence and the highest standards of business.
